What is prayer?
Although prayer has many levels, in the simplest form, prayer is communicating with God (Yahweh). It’s a time when we talk to God, we bring our petitions, and supplications as we enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. It is also a time to receive answers and to hear what is on the Father's heart. Prayer is the Believers lifeline.
Scripture references:
James 4:8
Psalm 100:4
1John 5:14-15

Why do we pray?
Prayer is not optional, its a command. Jesus commanded us to pray in Luke 18:1 "And He spoke a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray and not faint". During prayer we develop our relationship with the Heavenly Father. In His presence, we are strengthened, refreshed, receive instructions for living, and strategies to advance the Kingdom of God agenda in the earth. Prayer is a time for building intimacy and capacity.

Acts: 3:19
Jeremiah 31:25
Matthew 6:9-13
